The transfer hmight rarely happen only during the first outbreak after a few weeks or nonths, you are basically immune to the virus. On other parts. If you havent seen any initial oytbreak or lesions spreading even uf you it you didnt spread it it is a very rare thing to aoutoinaculate and wihout the lesions you cant spread it
Thank you Worryman, I will set an appointment with a 2nd doctor this month.
Since I was given my test results I've gotten subtle itching around my general pubic region and shaft (but without lesions). Not sure what to make of it but im taking my antivirals anyway
So whats the deal if I may have had this for 5 months without any lesions But haven't had an initial break out... can I still transfer this to another bodypart?

Hi if you had no typical symptoms and aa low positive like 1.5(anything below 3.5 is low) you should confirm it with another IgG blood test 4 weeks later. From any single exposure risk is very low and without no symptoms and a low positive test need confirmation. Then worry about these but without no outbreaks you cannot autoinaculate /transfer the virus all over your body.
The test was a blood test. I didn't have any lesions but I was concerned because the condom had popped. The reason I was asking was because last week I had touched my face after touching my genitals and my face started to burn when I scratched my face. But this is good to know. Thank you. perhaps my skin was just dry. But did note that around my lips and around my eye was burning. My eye turned heavily blood shot on one of those days.
Why did you test? Did you have lesions? Was the test IgG for HSV2?
It is wise to be careful of lesions during the first 3 months of an infection. Beyond that time it is virtually impossible to transfer the virus 'overland' to another location.
I was tested a little over a month ago. Came back positive for HSV2. it was like a 1.5, the point of contact happened about 3 months prior to that. Haven't had a any relations since then. Especially now that I live with this information. I am not in anyway stimulated... as matter of fact im repulsed. My doc gave me Rapivir as soon as results came back. Took it for 10 days straight and told to keep another pack of 30 around the house in case I ever get symptoms. I still have that other 30pack laying around. Only during the initial 10 day treatment did I get an itch near the base of my shaft. I did scratch it a little and noticed that I had chaffed it. Other than that, I've been washing my hands rigorously everytime I go to the bathroom. am very careful never to touch my face when I do go to bathroom. You say that I cant pass this on from one part of my body to the next?!
The issue has been dealt with numerous times, it is not possible.
How were you diagnosed, what type, what sexual history leading into the emergence of symptoms?
The two questions about the hand are the only reason I joined this forum. if I asked it the second time it was to better express how I meant to apply the question. I've read article after article over herpes since I've been diagnosed to find the answer my concern and it seems that there is no one covering this question of mine. Its a strong concern of mine and have joined a forum, for the first time, in trying to have my concerns addressed. (as far as the towel... disregard, what concerns me most is the hand questions)
In reference to the original question... How long would that Hand be of concern to a mate that didn't have herpes? For example if infected person touches themselves in the genitals then sometime after touches their mate (that is not infected) in the mouth, eye, or their genitals?
Thank you for your prompt response. How about the age old question about moist towels (and other sharable items around the house)... seems the entire web is littered with different time frames of herpes ability to remain transmittable.
Hi, those with herpes would be basicly immune to passing it to another location but bottom line hsv being transmitted this way would be a risk for young children whose immune systems are not yet strong but for adults its not an issue of any concern and for hsv2 really needs direct genital to genital rubbing contact to be at risk.
If you have a question, please tell us how you were diagnosed with herpes, the type etc. and your transmission concnerns.
