Hsv scare

Question for Grace and others that can help me please!

Hey guys, looking for you take on this.

Ive been sexually active with this girl since January and she claims shes never had a coldsore in her life. and just last Tuesday I looked on my lip and there was a small tiny cut.. On Wednesday I broke out in a bunch of tiny white bumps under my lip. I dry shaved under my lip on Tuesdat so i thought it was because of that. and the cut started to look like a cankersore. By Thursday the bumps under my lip turned into red dots kind of resembling scabs from when you'd hurt your knee and start scabbing also the cut on my lip developed a yellow film over it. Friday, Saturday remained the same and Sunday Monday Tuesday my lip is healed new skin started forming under my lip. Wednesday and Present time it is healed but just a fresh pink skin marks.

I went to a few doctors and

Doctor 1 (Thursday) claimed it was just a few bumps from shaving and gave me antibacterial ointment

Doctor 2 hospital (Friday night) claimed it was heroes after examine for 10 seconds or so

Doctor 3 (Saturday) claimed it was Folliculitis after very brief examination and took a swab of scabs and the yellow film cut on the side of my mouth.

What  do you guys think this is? What should I do? I'm terrified that it might be a more serious problem. I can send you pictures if you'd like.

Thank you for your reply. I had no clue to what was on my lip and dismissed it as a weird shaving rash. Until I researched online and saw that this wasnt normal. I got a swab of my lip and of the red spots done on Saturday, would this be too late?  When would be the appropriate time to go for a type test?

The yellow sore on the side of your mouth is something to be concerned about. Why haven't you got these sores swabbed for herpes to eliminate all this guessing?

My theory is it doesn't "look" like herpes, but I'm not a doctor. The sores are spread out and don't resemble cold sores I have seen either in person or online. This is very odd indeed as I have no clue what could cause such lesions.

They need to be swabbed immediately for herpes.

Thank you so much @Fleetwood20 and @gracefromhhp.
Is their a specific time we go for a type specific test? Also, to be more specific .. The bumps under my lip were like a clear white. They didnt puss but I had them form by Wednesday morning but were scabbed over by Thursday morning. Can this be typical of herpes? The best way I can describe the scab would be like red dot and behind the red dot was pink flesh. Is there a way to send pictures?

No I don't think what you describe are herpes lesions.

But even then, there's a so what. This doesn't mean you don't already have the virus or it doesn't mean you won't get it in future simply by kissing someone. HSV1us just a fact of life, what do you want to be different about life?

Just relax on this one and que sera, sera!

this doesn't sound like oral herpes going on.

at this point, both you and your partner should seek out type specific herpes igg blood testing to see who has what.

this sounds more like a bacterial infection. the topical antibiotic should take care of it.  if it gets worse, or comes back, be seen again.

Yes I understand. But from these descriptions that I've given. Do you think this is herpes? Also im waiting on the swab results. Was the swab taken too late considering I had it done on Saturday after the scabs were formed but my cut still had a whitish/yellow/red color. Or could this reveal accurate results.

Just because you haven't an outbreak in living memory doesn't mean you don't carry the virus.

Why be confused or spend energy on this. Just let things heal and consult a doctor if they don't.

More than half the population have HSV1, what is the alternative? Lock yourself away from sex? You're 21, take it from someone over double that, just live your life, it's too precious to waste opportunities because of a virus.

Thanks fleet wood for you reply. I am 21 and have never had any kind of hsv history/outbreak. This would be the first. What I'm confused about is before shaving that day I already had a minuscule cut on the corner of my lip. And I also had a quick dry shave under my bottom lip. Scraped pretty hard. I felt the stinging from the razor cuts that I had. Later that night I did meet with my girlfriend and we made out. Could this be impetigo because of the saliva after kissing or could this be a folliculitis. She also also given me oral and we make out all the time. This is the first time this is happening. I'm very confused

Do you know whether you have HSV1 or not already. Even if this your first known outbreak of HSV, and it doesn't seem like it, you could have had it since your youth. You may be the 'danger' to your partner not the other way around.

Life is really just too short to worry about oral HSV1. Stay away from your partner when symptoms are present, this is all you can pragmatically do, or need to do.
