Hello, so 6 months ago I was tested and positively diagnosed with HSV1 in three areas.
My throat, the side of me neck, and groin area.
I have always had cold sores maybe once a year on my lip, so I naturally have immunity built up for the HSV1 virus.
The initial outbreak 6 months ago was terrible, I missed 6 days of work, and was on my couch feeling like crap the entire time.
BUT, since then, I've had no outbreaks at all....
So, here's the question:
12 days ago I got a little sore throat, and not like scratchy... but more of a pain when eating or swallowing. Nothing bad, so I just didn't pay attention. A week later, the sore throat got a bit worse, and I got a little feverish, so I took a day off work. I examined my throat with a flashlight, and didn't see the normal look of a throat infection. No white pollups, or bad redness.... nothing really. Aspirin made the pain completely stop. A few more days go on, and I'm still with a constant sore throat! So I look again, and this time I see 2 or 3 little yellow dots, almost like scabs in the back of my throat, and also a little area that may look like it's an open sore.
I've also had a bad taste in my mouth and such.
Is this a herpes outbreak in my throat? I've had strep throat several times in my life and know the symptoms... this isn't that. This is like something I've never experienced really... besides when I had my initial outbreak(The type of pain anyway, not the immune response that made me feel terrible)
Anyone have any information on Herpes of the throat? And if this sounds like the case?
If so, when does it stop! I assume it's just like herpes anywhere else... 2-3 weeks and they eventually heal and go away.
