genital herpes from oral sex

hi

i am a male and i recently i made out with a woman for awhile in the dark. she than for about 10 to 15 seconds gave me oral sex.  After words when we were by light i noticed a small flesh colored bump in the middle of her lower lip almost like a tiny cyst.  it did not look like herpes at the time.  I dont know if my paranoia is getting the best of me and it has been almost 4 days and no signs of herpes on my penis.  Say this bump was oral herpes with the brief exposure what are the odds i would contract hsv-1 genitally and if i did would i definentely show signs?  Wouldi  have got exposed to the herpes virus on my mouth first ? so wouldnt i have got it both places if it was herpes i have read on this site that hsv-1 of the genitals is rarely transmittable is that true?....i was tested years back and i am negative for hsv-1 and hsv-2

thank you

I contracted genital herpes orally. He had no signs of cold sores at the time of oral sex (I didn't notice any and so he says). However, I had my first symptoms within the next 24 hours.

So- maybe since you haven't had an outbreak, you don't have it, (let's hope) but I have been reading a bit on the virus and many people don't even notice symptoms during their first outbreak.

Get tested for peace of mind. You could very well have it.

Best of luck.

I would get tested just to confirm cause you cant get it twice in the same area.

If I do not have any symptoms after 2 weeks is it safe to assume I do not have herpes should I get tested ?

If this was an active herpes lip sore, and rubbing took place, no way to estimate your risk but will asy its higher than no sore at the time. Folks can have sex multiple times with an active sore and still not contract it. Also in a first time exposure, its very possible to contract it both oral and genital, but his is only for the initial exposure.
