Do you know the actual results of your hsv2 test? You should have a number with it, like hsv2 IgG 6.89 or 14.3 or 3.4 or something like that.

Your doctor is correct - the only way you get hsv2 is from sex. However, you can have false positives on the hsv2 IgG test. Typically, if your number is under 3.5, there is a 50% chance that it's a false positive, and the lower the number, the higher the chance that it's a false positive. For example, a 1.2 has about an 85-90% chance of being a false positive.

Also, make sure it's an IgG test, and not an IgM test. The IgM test is really unreliable.

I don't know what is causing the red spots - maybe an allergic reaction, but if you are a virgin, and haven't had any genital to genital contact with someone, you can't have hsv2.

My Positive >1.09 he told me this and he you have herpes and I even show the pictures to my pharmacy he is a guy and the pharmacist told me yeah bro you definitely have herpes idea show me the picture of my outbreak and he said you’re definitely herpes outbreak so I don’t know how I got it I’m still a virgin never had any sex in my life the only way that I can think about how I got the virus it’s just maybe I didn’t wash my hands good before I use the bathroom because I touch my penis right away when I came home I just don’t know how then and honestly I’m depressed and he told me the virus is gonna be with you the rest of your life and I don’t know what to do I’ve been doing some research and it says the herpes virus does survive in sofas for 24 hours in public places that are dies out because I always use the bathroom a lot when I’m outside
No it’s not because the sores in my genital wart killing me and I was in pain I did give me some lotion to the lotion this whole thing I’m also taking the antibiotics and doesn’t matter how I got it I mean I have the virus I think I can do my voices to anyone who is reading this wash your hands before you use the bathroom make sure when you’re outside wear your gloves when you use the bathroom I am still a virgin I never had sex in my life I am 30 years old and I have been reading a lot of the stuff on Reddit
Okay take a breath and let's work through this.

First, a result that says greater than 1.09 is not good enough. It just isn't. Is that your result, or is that the range for the positive result?

It should have a specific number, and if it just says ">1.09", that's really lousy.

I don't care what the doc and pharmacist - who does not know what herpes looks like on everyone and is not trained to diagnose herpes - says. A visual diagnosis is wrong quite often.

Herpes doesn't live in couches. First, most people aren't sitting ass naked on couches, right? Herpes doesn't go through clothing. You ONLY get it from direct skin to skin contact - that's it. Either vaginal or anal sex, or naked grinding with enough friction to be associated with that kind of sex.

If you have hsv2, you've had one of those things happen. You didn't get it from a bathroom, a couch, a towel, etc.

Washing your hands after going to the bathroom doesn't change anything in regards to herpes, though washing your hands is always a good idea.

Genital warts is not the same thing as herpes. Herpes is hsv. Genital warts are HPV.

You can get your own test from stdcheck.com, healthcheck.com, letsgetchecked.com or ultalabtests.com. Only get the hsv2 test. You don't need the hsv1 test unless you have received oral sex.

What are you taking antibiotics for? Do you mean antivirals, like Valtrex? What lotion are you using? What is the name of it?

Take a big, deep breath and know that if you haven't ever had oral sex, vaginal sex, or anal sex, or naked grinding, you don't have herpes. It's not possible.

I don't care if you are a virgin or not, gay or not - I don't know you at all, so I don't see why you'd need to lie to me. I don't see why you'd need to lie to the doctor. If you've done none of those things, you can't have herpes.

First of all it is herpes the name of the lotion is Acyclovir Cream and the doctor also gave me antivirals the name of it is  valacyclovir hydrochloride 500 mg and I never had sex in my life so explain to me how I got the sores all over my private part it’s very very painful and the blood test came back positive I did it two times when I went to the hospital it is herpes
I'm saying that what you have isn't herpes, that you got a false positive blood test and that's why you need the specific blood test results.

Unless you have received oral sex, you can't have herpes on your penis.

Valacyclovir is an antiviral, not an antibiotic, and the dose you are on is incorrect for an initial outbreak.

I'm not sure why you are upset with us. We gave you great information and are trying to help you. I'm sorry you are going through this.

Please make sure you go for another test. Even change doctors and labs. Please check and double check everything before trusting any reports. I am going through no symptoms  and yet announced postive on pcr. Anything can happen in this world. If it's there we face it but if it's not there still u face a tremendous burden in your heart and on your mind.
