This forum has been quite helpful, thank you. I have a question. I definitely have HSV1 (I get a cold sore on my mouth about once per year). Recently I did an HSV2 IGG specific test in which the results came back >1.10 (positive) BUT it did not include the actual values. I did this through a free clinic and asked them if they could find out what my actual number was. They said that they cannot request that from the lab. I currently don't have insurance but want to find out how to get the same test but have the results include the actual number. Or, should I just find out how to get the Western Blot done to confirm it? I've never had any symptoms typical of HSV2 and understand that I could be asymptomatic. I have also read that if your value falls 3.5 or under that it could be a false positive, especially because of having HSV1. Your recommendation? Thanks so much for the support forum!
