In the future, for your salvation and eternal life, always disclose it. You don't have to disclose it the first day you meet him but when the time is right. Most guys, if they love and want the woman, will not care because our need for sex and or be loved is greater than abstaining. It certainly didn't prevent me from marrying my wife.
Not to include that you MIGHT be opening yourself to legal suits by not disclosing it if you DO pass it on, I'm not sure, I'm not a lawyer.
But the main reason you will do it is not to protect yourself but protect others. Why would you do something bad to someone that you would never be done to yourself?
I know you might think you will end up alone, bla bla.. but it's not the case. You won't. There are a lot of guys out there that will love you just the way you are. After all, you don't have HIV or leprosy! C'mon! You can do it.
Good luck!
Hi,
I am not a doctor but I do have herpes. My ex wife had it when we married. I want to reassure you that it's a lot easier for a woman to contract herpes than it is for a man to get it, especially if the guy has has cold sores on his lips as a teenager or child as in my opinion, it causes the immune system to protect us against HSV-2 but I never did a research on that, just a feeling I have.
Having said that, I contract herpes from her when I had a cut on my penis from masturbating too much. So of course, the virus went straight to my bloodstream.
This virus LOVES to munch on arginine rich foods. Look up the lysine arginine ratios for all foods. As long as you don't play with foods while having sex, and provided you communicate well together (ie when you have an outbreak or feel it's coming, let your partner know at all times so you guys can abstain for a few days, no big deal if he loves you, right?), then I think you should be ok.
Even as a guy, I never passed it on to anyone because I would let my partner know whenever it would start itching. Thse that loved me didn't leave me for that and were patient until it would go away.
Of course, they say it can shed even without any symptoms but I think the risk is minimal during those periods.
Just keep in mind that if you have herpes, make sure that if your boyfriend ever goes down on you, ensure he doesn't kiss you afterwards. Herpes is not fun but trust me that if you end up having HSV-2 in your mouth, you really won't like this one at all! That's what happened to me and I don't want anyone to get this ever! Just take my word for it... What you have is almost 'nothing'.. Just ensure it doesn't spread! Wash your hands and DONT taste yourself, especially after drinking alcohol or after eating foods rich in arginine, if you have periodontitis. If this virus can find a quick way to enter your bloodstream, it will!!!! Be warned and be greatful you only have herpes between your legs!
Imagine a life without coffee, chocolate, pasta, bread, wine, etc...
Keep also in mind also that since you have herpes, you now have an open door to get HIV. Stick to the same partner and ensure that he will NEVER cheat on you and will be faithful.
Marriage is really the best way to protect yourself.
Good luck my dear.
Any single exposure is low risk.
The virus does shed somewhere around 15-20% of days even when no symptoms are present. Your infection is relatively new so it probably is shedding even more. If he did contract the virus he will probably have his primary outbreak in 3-10 days after exposure.
There was a study done on twenty couples were one had hsv2 and the other did not. These couples averaged sex at least three times a week (unprotected).for a year. The only thing they did to protect the other partner was to obstain while an active outbreak was taking place. After a year only one of the couples transfered the infection to their partner.
The antiviral meds you were on will help reduce shedding as well. All in all his chance is low but there was still a risk.
