Igm Igg negative?

I have only had 2 sexual partners. I contracted genital hsv1 3 years ago when my boyfriend gave me oral sex. He had a sore on his mouth that he thought was a cut (stupid on my part, I know.) I had gotten sores 7 days later. I wore contact lenses at the time and may have spread it. I no longer wear them. Now, I hardly ever get outbreaks.  Maybe one in the beginning of each year.
I try my best to maintain a mainly plant based diet. Including lots of vitamins.
My boyfriend never has genital lesions because he has had hsv 1 in the mouth since he was a child. I only have it in my genitals so it's no issue for us to have unprotected sex.
Recently, we broke up and I had unprotected sex with a woman in December. I did not give her oral sex, but she gave me oral sex and rubbed her privates on mine for a few seconds. She had no lesions. I washed up immediately after, and continued my normal vitamin intake.
About 20 days later, I had an outbreak in my genitals and left eye. I'm quite familiar with them, as I already have hsv 1 but I am also having back pain. I was in a car accident 3 years ago which gave me radiculopathy and back pain but I don't know if I'm just paranoid.
I got tested 4 weeks post exposure and these are the results.
I got tested for both IGM and IGG
HSV 1 IGG >8.0 Positive
HSV 2 IGG <0.2 Negative

HSV 1 IGM Negative
HSV 2 IGM Negative.

I also had a PCR blood test done 5 weeks post exposure, as insisted on by my doctor

HSV 1 & 2 came back negative via PVR. (I know, these tests don't show hsv in the blood as they are neurological viruses.)

I had additional IGG and IGM testing yesterday for my own comfort, 6 weeks post exposure and I am still waiting on the results.
I'm pretty frustrated with my doctor because I had to teach HIM about hsv testing. He knows nothing about it. I tried calling labs but they just tell me to speak with my doctor so google and this site has been my only help.

My ex and I have been talking back and fourth. My biggest fear is trusting my negatives and passing it on to him so we will not be having sex. I have been mixing them and rubbing them along my spine as well as taking in lots of water and only eating plants. I also drop 3 drops of oregano oil and coconut oil under my tongue twice a day. The oregano oil has been working wonders and stops all of my back nerve pain and irritation.

Would you consider 6 weeks post exposure a reliable date?
Was it too early to test?
Would you consider my past igg and igm semi- reliable?
What are the chances of me having hsv 2?
Do I really have much to worry about?
Can the oregano oil help prevent viral shedding?
Could it be a false negative?

My ex and I broke up for less than a month and we really want to have a baby. If I test positive, I will not be getting back with him because I care about him way too much to give him HSV 2. I would rather sacrifice the relationship and my hopes in it than to have him experience hsv2.
I feel so stressed and my anxiety is getting the best of me. Please help.

First of all, you did not say whether or not you knew the woman you had an encounter with has hsv2. Let's assume she does. Genital apposition, i.e. genital-genital rubbing or outer-course, is a very inefficient way to transmit herpes; if transmission happens at all during this mode of sexual behavior, it is very rare. Even with intercourse with an infected person, the odds of transmission would be 1 in 1,000 on average based on studies. So the odds you would have acquired hsv2 if this woman is infected is very low. So low, it is not worth worrying yourself.

The median time from transmission to seroconversion on the IgG test is about 4 weeks. But, since your encounter was such low risk, I do not see a need to test. It won't hurt but I really see no need.

I am more concerned about your kale smoothie intake. Kale contains a high amount of iodine and your copious intake of kale smoothies can lead to hypothyroidism. Be careful. You may want to moderate your intake of kale and other cruciferous vegetables.

Thank you so much for your feedback. I am freaking out right now. I have been crying nonstop. So the IGG and IGM would be considerable reliable based on the time from exposure? I am so scared.
Also, if I did contract it, wouldn't the IGM have shown up by now at least?
The IgM is inherently unreliable. I would completely disregard it, and a pcr blood test is worth a full-blown face palm; it makes absolutely no sense.

I can not guarantee you did not get hsv2 from your recent encounter, but I have absolutely no reason to believe you did. Based on what I know and what you have disclosed above, I would be willing to bet you a very large amount of money that you are not infected.
Thank you for your advice. My main concern is if it is too early to show antibodies. I do consider myself to have a good immune system.
I'm just so paranoid. I also shaved 2 days prior to the encounter so I don't know if that has any affect on it. This outbreak has lasted 2 weeks. My hsv1 ob's usually last 1 week.

I feel so stupid. the ONE time I have sex with ONE other person, this happens.

So even if she put her hand on her private and licked it prior to giving me oral, the chances are quite the same?

Would the 6 week post exposure test allow for a good amount of reassurance?

I'm sorry I'm asking so many questions. I'm just surrounded by people who are so uneducated on herpes including my own doctor and I'm grateful for your advice
Mutual masturbation, even when the swapping of vaginal fluids are involved, is not an efficient way to transmit herpes.

The fact that you shaved two days prior does not change my opinion.

If I was concerned as you are, which I would not be, I would've had the outbreak swabbed and pcr tested.

Yes, a negative IgG antibody blood test at 6 weeks would be very reassuring.
I meant to say, "is involved". Sorry for the grammatical mistake.
Okay thank you so much. I just spoke with the lab and they said my igg results are ready so I will update you as soon as I get them. Fingers crossed for a negative
Okay so I just got my results and its showing
HSV I  5.5  Positive
HSV II <0.9 Negative
but it's a different lab so I wasnt sure if that's how they test, or if my numbers had risen?

It also shows
Esoinphils 5.5
Basophils  0.2

I wasnt sure if that had anything to do with the herpes test?
Sorry I meant >58.00 Positive for hsv I
I had it done with Quest Diagnostics, and I had the other one done with a different company. I seen a few people get negatives like that too (<0.9). I don't know if that was the normal thing, or if they show the actual number?
That's just a generic value. Saying it was bellow .9 many labs post it this way
Your esoinphils and basophils numbers are blood cell counts. Yours are normal.

Your encounter was low risk and your hsv2 result is negative, i.e. index value less than 0.9. I would conclude you are not infected.

If I were you though, I would cut down on your kale smoothie intake. Hypothyroidism is not something you want induce.
Okay I definitely will cut down the kale. So I should trust this test? (6 weeks post encounter) Because I really don't want to infect my boyfriend..
Also, could my HSV I have risen? It went from
>8.0 Positive 4 weeks post encounter to >58.0 positive 6 weeks post encounter

I'm really not worried about it, but I'm just curious
Don't worry about that number. Most labs have a cut off. So a number like 8 could be their cut off. Either way don't worry about the numeric value
Yes,  trust your numbers.
Thank you both so much for your advice

Just wanted to update you all. I just got my 9 week results and I'm still at a <0.2 negative with complete reassurance from my hsv educated doctor. I'm so happy. I feel like I can put this behind me. Thank you all for your help

I am not looking at your IgG test alone. I am considering it in the context of your encounter which was a low risk encounter, and your symptoms started 3 weeks after the encounter, which is quite uncommon.

Certainly, 12 weeks is more conclusive than 6 weeks, but how much more? Due to low risk, timeline of outbreak and negative IgG hsv2 test at 6 weeks, I think you can have a lot of confidence in your results.

If you decide to test again, I would wait for another 4 to 6 weeks. I do not think your results will change.
What I can't wrap my head around, is the fact that this outbreak lasted for a month, and I got them where I shaved :/
All you can do is weight the evidence. The evidence in your case is not strongly suggestive of hsv2.

Why not ask the woman you had sex with about her std history, but even if she were infected with hsv2, I doubt you caught it.

At first, she argued with me and refused. With lots of convincing, She's getting tested this thursday so we will see. I want to trust my positives with all of my heart. Everything is normal down there ever since taking valtrex for 3 days. I just want to put this behind me.
Like I said, even if her test results are positive for hsv2, I am still doubtful that you were infected.

Update: My doctor put me on Valtrex and the symptoms flared up but are slowly going away. This has been my worst and longest outbreak yet. I've had awful back pain. I am so afraid because all I keep seeing on other people's posts is that 6 weeks is too early to test. I kinda don't have that much time on my hands.

I must add that I specifically had outbreaks in the area I shaved before that encounter. Please help me.
