Is it Herpes or Candidia?

I visited a massage parlor 10 days ago.  I had protected sex.  Had barely any skin to skin contact except my scrotum which, I am sure, at some point probably came in contact with her groin area or buttocks.  Within 1-2 days I had an intense itching in one spot on my scrotum.  Within 3 days my scrotum was red and rashy.  On day four I had one spot on my scrotum that had raised up and looked almost like a masquito byte.  It was in the area of my scrotum that touched my thigh and it was kind of burning.  While I was in the bathroom I decided that I had definetly had something and I decided to spray Tanactin on my scrotum.  It burned so bad I thought I was doing to die.  The misquito bite looking bump went away immediately and turned into a flat red spot on my scrotum.  The next day I went to the store and bought some lotromin ultra and the rash seemed to subside and by day 9 had really calmed down to a point where I could barely feel any itching.  Somewhere between day 5 and 7 in between by buttocks and around my anus began itching and I developed what looked like infected hair follicles.  Day 8 I began putting the lotrimin on the affected area of my buttocks and the rash has significantly subsided by day 9 before a second application of Lotrimin.

I am/was freaked out that I had Herpes.  I have ordered a Herpes test in a couple of days at a local lab.

I had no fever, there were really no blisters (I think), with the exception of the masquito bite looking bump which I think was caused by my pinching and itching my scrotum, I had no headaches (except on day 9 (last night)), There was no pain, no lesions (except for the flat read spot that developed after I sprayed it with tanactin).  No pain urinating.  The major itching and symptoms where done and gone within a week really.

Question:  What is your best guess....Herpes or Candidia?

yes, posting from those teeny cell phone screens is hard....lol.

yes you can have herpes lesions heal that quickly but your description of the location as well as how this looks does not sound like herpes at all.

nothing else you can do at this point unless you get a return of symptoms before 3 months is up and can get them cultured .

Thanks Grace.  I apologize for posting to the wrong section.  I did it from my Iphone and it was difficult to see where I was at on the site:)

It absolutely has responded to the antifungals.

Have you ever heard of an initial OB flaring up within three days of contact and then gone within 7-9 days with no lesions or painful sores?

I am married and I do not want to transmit this to my wife or kids.  What other precautionary measure can I take to reduce or eliminate the possibilty of infecting my wife in the event this is Herpes?

Is there anything else I can do to further evaluate and/or diagnose my condition...which seems to be disappearing?

Thanks again... I won't bother you with another post and appreciate your time and response.

you tried to post in someone else's paid post in the std experts forum so  your post was bumped over here plus it appears you also posted here. unless you pay to post, you can't have questions answered in the experts forum.

it's way too early for a herpes blood test. you need to wait 3 months after the encounter for the blood test to be helpful.

this sounds like a fungus infection plus it's responded to the topical antifungals.

if you are concerned, follow up with  your provider for a proper exam.

I did forget to mention that there seemed to be just a few tiny black blood blisters, I had to look very close to even see them.  I am 35.  Not sure if they have been there for a while or not.  I typically have no need to inspect so closely... soo I am not sure if this is a sign or not.  In reading a lot of the forum posts there are a lot of sypmtoms that could have been herpes but also candidia.  I sure appreciate what you folks do!!  I feel soo stupid that I have put my family in jeapordy like this....  It won't happen again.
