Is this herpes whitlow????help

Ok so I tested and I was positive for herpes 1 and negative for herpes 2. In December I tested negative again for herpes 2. On January 9th I had oral sex with a guy briefly. He had some bumps on his penis that he said he had as a child. It didn't look like herpes to me. Fast forward on 4th February I had unprotected sex with another guy a good friend & also on 20th February. On the 25th I notice a small bump on the outside of my left thumb finger the next day it had like 4 it looked almost like a fungus but like little blisters. 2 days later all the small blisters fused into 1 bigger water blister or water bladder. 3 days later it did not burst. No sore throat no fever no fly like symptoms. It pained a little only of water went on it. It itches a lot though. Went to the dermatologist when I showed him the single water blister he said he didn't know what it was it could be an insect bite or bacterial. I showed him a pic of the initial 4 blisters he said it could be hepatic whitlow?? But how where. & if it's herpes how come I don't have any outbreaks on my genitals or mouth??? Did I get it from the 1st guy who I did oral sex with that was 7 weeks ago 47 days ago???? & now show symptoms?? Or the 2nd guy he said he tested negative for herpes 2. Why is it on my finger and I never had a genital or oral outbreak?? What should I do?

First of all whitlow is almost always hsv1 and those at risk are in the dental profession. Hsv2 is considered sexually transmitted genital to genital. The skin on the finger is to thick for the virus to enter so i would not be concerned you have hsv2 whitlow. And if you already have hsv1 oral you cant get it anywhere else on your body. Do let us know your test results and you might take another blood test for hsv2 at the 3 months mark.
Has nothing to do with chicken pox.

Hi it doesnot suggest whitlow for the simple reason that whitlow is extremly painful. The only way to confirm what it is is to have it swabbed and tested.

Thank you for responding life360. I did a wound culture swab this morning. I am not sure what swab to use to find out if it is hsv 2 or 1. Is their a specific test i should have asked for?? Or would the wound culture of it be ok?Does hepatic whitlow blisters fuse into a bigger blister? when u say it is painful do u mean like unable to use the finger?? It hurt a little but was not t unbearable. Is it not weird to get a hepatic whitlow 47 days after exposure to the 1st guy (with the bumps on his penis)I had oral sex with?? And if I got hsv 2 from the 2nd guy I had unprotected sex with Would not  the HSV 2 be on my genitals instead of my finger. I have HSV 1 but do not have hsv 2 as of December last year. I do not get oral outbreaks at all. So I am wondering how this could be hepatic whitlow? The dermatologist said the blisters could indicate hepatic whitlow.... But I never got this lesion before.  I got the chicken pox vaccine 1 week before this appeared on my hand. Could this have something to do with it??? Life 360 do u think I should test over for hsv 2 igg???

The dermatologist popped it with a needle it oozed fluid. But it did not hurt at all. Now like its swelling back up with water. Does this sound like herpes whitlow. The dermatologist is not sure what it is
