Itching

I had my first herpes outbreak back in September. It was on the tip of my penis and was diagnosed by a culture as hsv-2. Ever since my eyes and nose have been itcching a lot, which has been bugging me out because I know those are two prime spots for autoinnoculation. I do wash my hands a lot and I haven't touched a sore and then my eyes or nose  that I can recall.
If it was a case of autoinoculation how long would it be until these sores showed up on my eyes and nose? Honestly I feel like I'll be OK for a few month and than bam this herpes is going to show up everywhere, it already showed up on my anus at least I think it did. I have what looks like two sores which are painless but itchy. P.s the sores on my penis were painless as well. I did touch one of the "sores" on my anus and than I faintly scratched the side of my nose forgetting that I touched this "sore" ( I was urinating) I quickly washed my hands and the side of my nose. Could I have transmitted it?

im not an expert on this site but I have been doing a lot of research on herpes over the last few months because I have convinced my self i have it lol ... anyways

1. autoinoculation occurs on your primary outbreak. So assuming that you have had a prior outbreak then it is extremly uncommon that autoinoculation would occur because after your first outbreak your body would have created antibodies to prevent you from spreading the virus to other parts of your body.

2. In the off chance that you could have possibly autoinoculated your eyes or nose (very rare) HSV2 does not like the facial nerve and will almost never re occur after it has been infected (this information is from west overheights terri warrens office) the doctor mentioned that if it did it would be like once every 5 years. Her words not mine

3. westover heights clinic offers telephone consults for a fee. I have called twice and I can tell you both times it was money well spent! Their staff is extremely knowledgeable about herpes and all other std's for that matter and can easily answer any question you may have about your newly acquired situation

best of luck my friend

There are only volunteers on this forum, but we do our best!

I agree with all said above. Autoinnoculation is exceptionally rare. A casual brush will not result in infection. Think of the rubbing that was involved in your infection in the first instance!

For whatever reason, I believe you will find that the immune system for HSV2 is exceptionally 'powerful'. I do not believe you will find a documented case of additional HSV2 infection with an established HSV2 infection. Further you will hardly find any cases of people with HSV2 subsequently being infected with HSV1.

If you had sores on your anus, which I wouldn't necessarily be convinced they were herpetic, this is the same infected nerve ganglion as your penis. The virus has not travelled beyond the ganglion.
