Itchy reaccurring rash on chest.

Within the past year, I have been getting a small rash on my chest. The area is about the size of a quarter, it’s red and itchy at first, and then a day or two it almost looks like I have tiny blisters in the red and itchy area. It’s very uncomfortable and appears in the same spot every time. Any idea on what this could be?

I went into the doctor when it first happened and they said it was just a normal rash that would go away. They gave me antibiotics and I was sent home.

The fact that it’s coming back randomly in the same spot makes me think it’s not a “normal rash”.

Following. I posted a similar question. Waiting for some feedback. My most recent outbreak was on my chest, and tested positive for HSV 2.

Started off like a tingling itch. Then some bumps. Then fluid filled blisters. Got about as big as a quarter. More itching and tingling. Eventually they busted and crusted over. More itching until they healed. I’ve had this happen on my back, arms, and legs. Don’t know why it’s on my body like that.

If it happens again, I’m going to go in and get it tested once the blisters appear. I recently had a baby and they tested me for std’s and said I was negative. So I’m curious as to what this is. I don’t get it anywhere else. Just the same exact spot on my chest. It’s so weird.

The chest isn't a usual place for herpes, but have they ever cultured it? That's really the only way to determine what it is.

That’s what I thought too. But no, I’m going to go in next time it pops up and have them test it.
