My partner and I engaged in one episode (sex twice in one night) of protected sex back in March. My friend told me recently that you can still get genital herpes, even though you used a condom. This freaked me out. My partner and I talked about our sexual history before we engaged in sex & both concluded that we were clean. He got tested in Jan and hadn't been with anyone since & I got tested in December and hadn't been with anyone since. I also checked him for any bumps or lesions to ensure he did not have any visible symptoms. I didn't see anything, but now i'm wondering if i missed something. As soon as my friend told me that, it scared the hell out of me. I know this is a little overboard, but I checked everyday in the mirror to make sure I did not have any symptoms. It's been over two months now and I do not have any symptoms yet. I also got tested at almost 4 weeks and everything came back negative besides hsv 1, but I have always tested positive for this. I am female btw.
Questions:
Can I conclude that I will not have an outbreak since I have not had symptoms in over two months, used a condom and tested negative at almost 4 weeks?
What is the probability that my hsv 2 test will remain negative at 12 weeks?
