Labcorp and What Brand of Tests?

Hello!

I ordered the Herpes 1&2 Immunoblot IgG from via an online testing center. They said it was Focus Technology's HERPES 1&2 Immunoblot - Type Specific test (Focus makes the HerpesSelect brand.)

I had the test done at LabCorp.

I read on another post where Grace heard that the LabCorp does not use HerpesSelect now? At least for the HERPES 1&2 Test - Type Specific Test IgG?

Is that true?

Also, does anyone else other than Focus make a HERPES 1&2 Immunoblot IgG test?

Focus is the best one as far as I have read.

I think a lot of us would like to know the answers!

Thanks!

If your doc orders the WB from quest, nothing you have to do.

The biokit info is available at  biokitusa.com.

Thanks Grace.

I saw on the LabCorp order from that it was for an HSV IgG Type Specific 1and 2 Immunoblot.

Hmmmm.

So LabCorp des not have the HerpesSelect anymore or do you mean that unless you specifically order the HerpesSelect they switch you over to Captia?

Also, what lab does the BioKit come from? Or how would it be ordered?

And one final question - if my doc orders the Western Blot via Quest do I have to call the U of W? Or does Quest handle that now? (I got a WB years ago and had to call, etc.)

Sorry for all the questions!

Thanks!

You'd have to check to see if the labcorp lab you used still had the immunoblot that they were using or if they had automatically switched over to the captia test.  the default type specific herpes test at labcorp is now the captia test.

as far as I know captia doesn't make an immunoblot herpes igg blood test.
