Low positive igg for hsv2?

I have two low positives for hsv2 - 1.26 and 1.6.  Both quest labs taken about a week a part.

I am healthy 48 y.o. male.

No symptoms.

2 weeks prior had a condom leak a bit/tear giving oral sex to a man.

Other than 1 other time of giving unprotected oral sex to a man, all other experiences with condom. Never did anyone appear symptomatic.

Chances this is false positive seem high?

Is wb test only way to confirm? Can this be obtained anonymously?

Would igg test from another lab help?

I assume igg test for act two weeks earlier isn't informative?

The western blot is a pain to get done. I wouldn't take any antiviral meds at this point. It can effect testing.
You can wait a few weeks and retest with an igg.

Previous two tests at quest.

When I retest is there any benefit to going to a different lab?
Not really. You can try labcorp.

Contracting hsv2 from giving oral sex is pretty rare and this last act was mostly condom protected is zero risk.
Hsv2 igg tests are sensitive and can pick up hsv1 antibodies or odd proteins. Yes this has in my opinion about an 80% chance of being a false positive. You can seek out the western blot as this is the best test for confirming what is going on. I would wait until 12 weeks from last exposure. Until then do what you normally do. If this is indeed an oral infection with hsv2 the odds of you ever passing it is slim to none. Oral hsv2 sheds so very little.

My hsv1 was negative, as were all other std in a comp test package

Any easy way to get w.b.?

Should I take the valtrex daily as a precaution to protect my regular female partner?

I assume igg tests from labs other than Quest will not test differently and provide any insight?
