Monkeypox and high HSV 1 and 2 numbers
Recently had a std check for all Sti’s. HSV 1 and 2 were very high. HSV 2 IgG was 5.64 and HSV 1 IgG was 29.60. Could these levels of antibodies be high because of monkeypox?

Thanks for the answer! No normal herpes symptoms. I do have a sore and hot to the touch area on my left shoulder. See my GP soon!
So if you think you have monkeypox, get yourself to an urgent care, unless "soon" to see your GP means today or tomorrow. Let them know at the desk that you think you might have it, and wear a mask, as you should at an urgent care for covid anyway.
Monkeypox isn't dangerous - it won't kill you or anything, but there are some meds you can take that can help. Those around you who may have been exposed can also get treatment or vaccinated early, which is important especially if they are immunocompromised.
Something on your shoulder is far more likely to be monkeypox than herpes.

Your numbers aren't actually all that high, though they may have been indicated as that on your report. I've seen much higher.
Your hsv1 number indicates a very established infection, predating monkeypox. Your hsv2 number could also be an established infection, or could be newer. Have you had symptoms?
