Need Test Results assistance

I was tested and came back positive  - 2.40.  The lab was Lab corp and the type of test (what the dr told me when i asked) was HSV type 2 specific ab, igg hsv 2 type specific.  I have read that there are problems with Lab corp and that 2.40 is considered in a range where re testing would be suggested.  I had what I think was a primary outbreak (no blisters but flu symptoms and aching May 7-10th. Last time intimate was May 1st.  thoughts?

yes it was the captia test if it was done at labcorp.

you'll need to repeat your testing in a few months and then see if you still have a low positive or not before you can get confirmatory testing.

I did not go to Labcorp - that is just the lab my Dr. uses - I have asked several times for the manufacturer of the test - no response yet.  is this something I should pursue or just assume that if she sent to blood to labcorp i it was the captia test?

labcorp offers the captia herpes test . it's an FDA approved herpes test.

it still has the same potential false positive issues as all the rest of the tests do.

your testing was done too early to be confirmed at this point. wait and repeat your blood testing in august or later and go from there.

just flu symptoms and no obvious lesions can be many things and really no reason to suspect herpes.
