Negative IgG for HSV 1 & 2. Upper lip small bumps??

First off I want to thank this forum for helping answer any related questions.

On October 3, 2013 I met up with a girl I've never met and we had protected sex. No oral sex on either side but we did kiss. Literally the following day I get this ulcer on my gum and I decide to buy some antiseptic mouthwash to clean it out. It takes about a week for it to completely heal. Fast forward two weeks my lips begin to get chapped (at this point I was reading a ton about hsv and any home remedies to rid the virus) with my lips chapped I applied apple cider directly onto my lips and I also applied oil of oregano directly on it. At times applying them both at the same time. I was also taking L-lysine pills and a coconut pill that acted as an immune boaster.

I decided to stop applying those things and I contacted the girl and ha her get tested. She came back negative for hsv1 .5 and hsv 2 .2 igG.I also got tested igG and was negative for both hsv 1 .1 hsv2 .1. My question here is, did me taking the Llysine, oil of oregano and the coconut supplements have any direct affect to my results? Given that the test was done 5 weeks after exposure not catch the antibodies?

The weird thing is I still have these small bumps on my upper lip and they won't go away. They're really tiny bumps just covering my upper lip. I really have no idea what they can be any help will be appreciated. Is it a possibility it is in fact herpes?

Not an expert, just a guy who thinks these other folks are completely clueless when they discuss Lysine.

Looked at your pic.  Doesn't look like herpes at all to me.  I've gotten cold sores for 30 years.

Okay, I'm going to a dermatologist and see what he can do. I have no blisters I just have these weird tiny "pimples" that have black tops. Again you'd have to be really close it's just bugging me out. Anyone know about this??

The doctor told me it might possibly be another virus and it should clear out on its own. The only thing is it has been 4 weeks and they are still there. I was reading about hydrocortisone being applied and that didnt work also. As well as coconut oil. I'm helpless!!

No - the substances you used would not have affected your blood test.

If it's herpes, you would have had to have gotten it in a somewhat convoluted way - because of her negative IgG, she would have had to contract it herself recently and have been shedding when she kissed you. It's not impossible. Did you ask her whether she'd kissed anyone else in the last few months?

The very next time you have a fresh blister, go and get it swabbed right away - don't wait more than 48 hours or you risk a false negative. And also, you should both get another IgG in early February, 16 weeks past exposure, to see whether any antibodies have generated.

Hi, if the bumps came the next day and you tested negative at 5 weeks then it would not be herpes related as a new infection, symptoms would be at 3 days as takes time for the virus to mulitply, travel to the spine and work its way back up to the lip surface.

12 weeks would be conclusive but 5 weeks may show a low positive but not always.
