Negative Swab Culture

Posted a few months ago, but forgot to ask specifically about negative culture tests. If the culture test is done within 24 hours how conclusive is it? I've read only 30% negative results are conclusive, but that seems a bit low. if you immediately go to the dr and get it done wouldn't it be closer to 80%?

I also had a negative blood test prior to this exposure, so I know that this hypothetically would've been an initial outbreak. (outbreak also was just small red bumps/small pimples not in clusters so 2 docs didn't think it' was herpes)

so basically around what % of an initial nontraditional outbreak plus getting culture done within first 12-16 hours of symptoms would still result in a false negative? I understand there's no definitive number, but looking for a little peace of mind.

thanks!!

if it was a fresh open sore, testing at 24 hours could  be reliable but a blood test would be conclusive at this point.

Hi, cultures are only good showing a positive as often the miss it and 24 hours is a very good time to take it so i would think is negative if you had a fresh sore.
