This would be very very rare if it was hsv related. What where your test results numerically speaking.
It is very possible to have HSV without experiencing oubreaks. remember that herpes can manifest itself to look like other viruses, infections, allergies ect . So what we see on Google is not necessarily textbook herpes. Everyone with HSV does not have outbreaks the same. There is a possibility that you could be positive with a lower index reference because your immune system is working in order to suppress the virus. HSV can lie dormant in someones system for years without symptoms. But your body will still produce the antibodies in order to fight it.

Ok. The hsv2 numeric value falls into tbe realm of a posibility of false positive. Anything less than a 3.5 is suspect. You need another test and posibly the western blot.
