Not sure, but symptoms fit

Hi, I've been in a monogamous (i know on my part) for the last 6 years. The last 3.5 have been long distance. A little under a year ago, I was visiting my girlfriend (stayed for about 2 months) and started to see these little wart/boil looking things on my penis.

After they burst, they became these red spots that burned to the touch. They healed, but with scar spots that disappeared after about a month.

I just had similar outbreak of these wart/boil things  about two weeks ago. They healed, but now I've started to break out again, and on top of that I'm having cold/flu symptoms. I don't get sick that often, but the symptoms include a stuffy, runny nose and sneezing.

My girlfriend told me that as a girl she would sometimes get cold sores around her mouth. She said she's never had genital symptoms.

I haven't been tested yet but will do so in the next day or two. Am I right to be worried?

definitely this needs followed up on . could it be herpes? yes it could be. could it also be something else? of course.

odds are neither you nor your gf have ever had herpes igg blood tests done before. she should also be following up on this on her end with a type specific herpes igg blood test herself.

the cold you have is just that, a cold, It's not related to what's going on in your genital area right now.

You can get HSV1 genitally. It takes a few months for antibodies, but if you get a blister go in right away for culture testing. There are antivirals to suppress it.
