Oral Herpes inside of lips

Hi there,

I recently went to a doctor who diagnosed me with possible oral herpes due to the patter of ulcers that occurred on the inside of my lip.

I have been reading online that people with oral herpes usually present cold sores outside of the lips and around it. My one seems to have formed on the inside of my lips and can only be seen if you fold out the bottom lips with your hands.

I've gotten ulcers like these before but have never noticed any "painful blisters" which are associated with oral herpes.

I guess my question is, is this truly a case of oral herpes?

Waiting on the results but can't seem to ease my mind without some online research at the moment.

Thank you!

Just got the test results back and it is negative.

So for those worried about any signs of herpes inside their lips instead of outside. You can rest assured that it's mostly likely just a bad case of the ulcers.

Cheers!

Hi, your reseach is correct in that herpes occurs on the outside of the lips not inside but do tell us your test results.

is what my ulcers looked like.

They were grouped together quite similarly and my dermatologists is concerned that it may indicate Herpes Simplex.
