Oral sex herpes question

I have recently been diagnosed with herpes 2 of the genitalia. I received it from my boyfriend who didn't know he had it and has never shown symptoms. If I perform oral sex on him can I also get herpes of the mouth (since I'll never know when he's shedding)?

Also, can he get herpes of the mouth when he performs oral on me even if he's the one who gave it to me genitaly?

Also, the doctor told me to wait two weeks after my ulcers have healed on my vagina to have skin to skin contact. Does that hold true when the skin to skin contact is with someone who already has it but just doesn't show symptoms?

Can I get it on my hands by giving him a hand job (once again because I won't know when he's shedding)? I didn't think it was possible until you google herpes images and see it on people's hands and knocks etc.

Sorry so many questions.  It's new and scary and I've been reading so much info and it's kinda hard to decipher.

Thank you.

also I'm not ignoring your oral sex questions, just can't really answer them until we know if you have hsv1 or hsv2.

so you had a lesion culture done of active symptoms and it said + for herpes but was not typed?  if so your partner should seek out type specific herpes igg blood testing to see what his status is so that you know if it's hsv1 or hsv2 genitally. won't make a darn bit of difference as far as precautions for the two of you but knowing type will help you decide how to treat your herpes at this point.

I had the test come back as positive from herpes. But the doctor said they can't do a guaranteed blood test for type for 4 months after infection but that it appears as hsv2. My boyfriend has not been tested yet but he is my first sexual partner of any type so that's how we know he for sure has it.

did you have testing of your genital lesions that came back as hsv2+?

has your bf been tested to know his status?

from your other post - aches and pains aren't too unusual with a newly acquired herpes infection - it's part of the flu like symptoms we talk about.
