Penis discomfort

Hi,I'm experiencing slight discomfort towards the end of my penis. I have no errectile problems and apart from a liason about 2 years ago,I've not slept with anyone but my partner. This started within the last 6 months at the longest and I first noticed it while shaving my pubic area and holding my penis up to shave underneath. It's not severe pain and it's not constant. I'm going to see my doctor next week when I get home to the UK,but any suggestions as to what could be causing it would be helpful. Thanks.

Thanks for the reassurance. I'll let you know in about a week what the doctor said.

Herpes doesn't recur as often as once a week.  Once a month is pretty much the maximum frequency, and each outbreak lasts at least a few days, with no symptoms at all between outbreaks.  And herpes in the urethra usually is quite painful.

Good idea to get checked out, but my bet is that nothing abnormal will be found.

It's not bothering me at the moment and it's fairly in frequent. When it's there I'm aware of it,then I may not notice it for a week or so. It's noticable if I squeeze gently about 1 inch from the end, like when I lift it up to shave under it,but not always. It's a discomfort as though it could be slightly inflamed inside. Nothing severe that would make me yell out.

Say more about "not constant". How long does the discomfort last each time? How long between these periods?

Hi, is the discomfort inside your urethra or topical?
