Positive HSV type 1 culture with negative blood test? Need help

A few years ago, maybe 3, I was still with my ex boyfriend when I had what appeared to be an outbreak. The first time I had ever gotten one. I went to my OBGYN and they took a culture that came back positive for HSV type 1 but genital. I proceeded to get blood work done that I had never received results for. I just assumed that it was positive. About a year and a half ago I was becoming sexually active with a new partner (my now current boyfriend). I had never gotten another outbreak but I let him know anyways there was a possibility and that I would get another blood test done to make sure. That blood test came back negative. Now a year and a half later, I had what seemed to be another random outbreak. And this time my boyfriend noticed a cut under his foreskin as well... Being that I was told I was negative, I went back to get another culture and blood test to see what was going on. I have a history of alot of reoccurring yeast infections and bacterial vaginitis, I thought that could be something. Turns out I do have a yeast infection, ontop of bacterial vaginitis, and my culture has came back positive again for HSV type 1. But shocker, the blood test still says negative... Still after 3 years. Now I am extremely nervous I have passed it on to my boyfriend thinking I was negative. This whole negative blood test and positive culture is making me very confused and frustrated. Anyone's help is greatly appreciated considering my doctor doesn't have an answer for me. Thank you

I think its best to say that some folks dont test accuratly and not that they dont show antibodies. Its kind of the same thing but put in a more professional explanation.

As mentioned some folks never show antibodies but find out exactly what test she gave you and any numbers that came up. Maybe shes not learned about herpes blood tests so its up to you to find out. If it says less than 100 is negative what numbers came up with yours. The most common test says any number 1.2 and above is positive.

Hi, consider the cultures conclusive that have genital hsv1 and also note that there are some rare people who never show positive tests and it would appear you are one of them. Tell us what kind of blood test for herpes you took?

My doctor did not tell me what kind of blood test she took, but she mentioned that both times, a year and a half ago and last week, both blood tests showed less than 100 (or 100%). She claimed to think it's because there is not enough antibodies to show I'm positive. But after this long that does not make sense to me.
