Positive IGG but Negative PCR herpes test

Hello,

Please help me on this. Two years back I had a IGG anti body test and was given a HSV 1 0.28 but a HSV 2 3.28. I took a PCR vaginal swab as well which was out negative for both HSV 1&2. The doctor said that the reading from HSV iGG positive was due to shingles outbreak  I was having at that point in time. Recently I went to take a PCR vaginal swab test as my partner was worried that he might get it and it was negative as well with the same doctor!

I just want to find out two things (would really appreciate if you can answer my question)
1) Am I really herpes type 2  free?
2) what type of test do you recommend me to go for?

Would really appreciTe your reply

Yours Sincerely,
Jane

I wpuld take an igg blood test again. Pcr tests are fine if herpes lesions are present but kind of useless if they are not.
