Possible HSV misdiagnosis?

I was experiencing vaginal discomfort a couple months back. I thought maybe I had a skin irritation due to waxing. I tend to have very sensitive skin and figured the waxing was a factor. So when my Dr. took a look she said it was herpes. She took a swab sample and then got back to me a couple days later telling me it tested positive for herpes. I then took the IgG test & results came back negative. From what I have read up on, this is an indicator of a new infection (correct me if I'm wrong). Obviously panicked I told my partner (who I have been seeing for about 7 months) to get tested. He tested negative. I've only been with two partners my entire life and both have tested negative for it (I saw the test results myself). I decided to get a second opinion I figured I'd see a Gynocologist instead of a primary Doctor. The Gyno said she didnt think it was herpes but a bacterial skin infection gave me meds for that and to re test in 4 months. How is it possible for both my partners to test negative but for me to test positive when herpes can only be transmitted from skin to skin contact?? I'm definetly confused.

Swab tests are extremely accurate when a positive result is found. The swab finds the actual virus. The igg blood test looks for antibodies the body makes to combat the virus.
Did your Dr type specific test the sample? Meaning do you know if it's hsv1 or hsv2?

Hsv1 blood tests miss up to 25% of infections. This means that negative results isn't concrete that someone doesn't have hsv1.

No, when I asked her for the typing from the swab test she said she didnt type it. She basically told me it was confirmed by a fluorescent antigent test & that when an outbreak presents itself down there its usually a pathogen for HSV2.
That's incorrect. At least 50% of new hsv genital infections are hsv1. It's such a shame that some Drs have no clue about hsv and testing.
could I have possibly gotten this where I got my wax? I'm sorry but this is all stressful.
I understand your stress over this. You would not contract hsv at a spa
