Possible herpes?

I had a cold sore that was on its way out (not even sure to date if it was an actual cold sore). Had oral sex with my boyfriend and still worried 6 weeks later after the encounter. Neither of us have had any blisters or herpes symptoms on our genitals. However in between my labia there seems to be a dark redness. It goes away and then sometimes will come back. I have an upcoming Doctor appt but I'm afraid by the time I get to the appt the redness will be gone and cannot be PCR tested. Should I be worried?

They are not hsv. You need to relax a bit. Everything is not hsv. Please try and relax and think about everything rationally.  I know you're stressed but you need to realize you are doing this to yourself. You don't have herpes on your arm. And wearing a condom protects no one from an arm. See where im going here? Deep breath and rational thinking.
At this point you both should get tested and see where your at. This will be my last post until you test.
Thank you and have a great day.

I got my blood test results for the 6 week check up. IGM was <.9 and IGG for 1 and 2 was <.2 are the worrisome results?

Very very small if any. If you gave him genital hsv1 he would know it. A new hsv1 genital infection almost always has a classic primary outbreak. Like I said in my comments above" you can be very confident your boyfriend did not contract hsv1"
Yes if you do have it orally it wont ping pong off him back to you.  Hsv1 has fewer recurring outbreaks and sheds much less than hsv2.

If your still worried ask him to get tested. If he does show pos for hsv1 them my thought would be he has a lomg term oral infection from childhood.

Great thank you. Would you happen to know if I would have classic symptoms of it appeared anywhere else? I found a cluster on red spots on my arm and I'm afraid it may be herpes. I won't know for sure I guess until a couple days to see what they progress to. But I have no outward symptoms and the spots were not bother some
Also if the spot were to be herpes is it still ok to have protected sex?

Herpes lesions last 10-14 days on average. Never just a day or two. If it looks like a pimple that doesn't progress into a fluid filled blister or has a hair in it then it's not hsv. Pimples and agrivated hair follicles are common.

What are the odds that I gave my boyfriend genital HSV1? Also since we had sex after oral sex I read that it's unlikely for me to even get genital HSV1 because I already have it orally. Is this true?

I understand your concerns. At six weeks post exposure with no symptoms you can be very confident your boyfriend did not contract hsv1 on his genitals.

How would one know the difference between a pimple and a herpes sore when it first comes up?
Also if the redness/pimple goes away within hours or a day it probably isn't a herpes vesicle correct? The redness subsided and the pimple is in a different place

If it doesn't progress into lesions or paper cuts then I wwouldn't be to worried.
Yes test do miss hsv1 but are you sure they were cold sores that you had? Another thing to consider is if you do have an established hsv oral infection it would be rare to get it on the genitals later.

Thanks for all of your help! The only reason I'm worried about transmission is because my partner and I each gave each other oral. I am not sure it was a cold sore but I do have good suspicion that it was.

If it was a cold sore and you did infect your boyfriend he most likely would've had an outbreak on his penis 3-10 (rarely up to twenty days) after exposure. I doubt he was infected as iit's been 6 weeks. I recommend calling your Dr's office and state your concerns and timing is a real issue. If they can't get you in find another Dr that cares about your well being.
Another peice of advice is for both of you to get tested together so you know where you stand
Good luck with your Dr and keep me posted please.

That's good to hear. We did both have blood tests and since it should be an HSV 1 infection I was worried about that test. However it came back negative. Which puzzles me because I've had 1 or 2 cold sores over the years. However I was told that 1 in 4 blood tests for HSV 1 are false negatives. Also if the redness goes away by tomorrow should I even be worried about that area? If there is redness and no sores could that still be a sign of herpes?
