Questions about Cold Sore/HSV!

One day I woke up with a swelling like a bug bute but later realized that there were  white patch on my lips which looked a lot like Fordyce Spot it didnt look like blisters at all. They never hurt or anything, I did not feel the tingle ir the fever or anything at all, which later the skin just ripped off, due to me squeezing or maybe no they didnt hurt at allt. I went to the doctors but only had the PA to do the diagnostics. He said it was Canker Sore ... On the outside near the border of my lips or maybe some sort of allergic reaction.Okay. So. I doubt he was right.
Anyways the wound left by the ripped off skin from the patch has completely healed now. I think. The skin looks just like it was before with little scarring, but it's completely healed or at least look like it. It has the same color as the rest of the skin only when i purse my lips is when i can see the scar clearly.
Anyways.

When is it safe to touch the area where I had this 'sore' if it is cold sore I understand that it could spread.
Which worries me. Luckyly if it was cold sore it didnt spread, but now I'm paranoid.
So when is it safe to touch, the area which was once there was this "sore"?
And also it maybe too late for a culture to determine if it was caused by HSV, butis there any other lab test that can determine if I am infected?
I haven't had any sexual nor bodily fluid exchangw withanyone in years... For it to just pop off one day was scary.
I've been so paranoid that touching or scatching anywhere near my upper lip i run and wash my hand and sanitize to the point that my hands become so dry :/

To sum it up my questions are:

When is it safe to touch the area of the skin/lips where a "cold sore" if it was, once was?
Are there any test that can determine if you have HSV, after the sore had healed?
HSV infects people through bodily fluid, saliva, blood, semen. If you have a cold sore and somehow end up drooling in your sleep, can that cause sores all over you face?

Thank you for your time and please do answer. I'm quite young and freaked out. I've made sure most of my life to avoid things such as this and now I might have caught it and I don't even know the cause... Please give me your knowledge to help me cope just incase.

Thank you very much! I feel less worried now but caution will always be good.
I have a few more things to ask if it is not much just so I can have a slight peace of mind. I know I should be asking my primary physician but he's booked till next month... And it doesn't seem to be life threatening to head into ER.

1)So in your opinio the PA might have been right that it was just a lip sore caused by other stuff and not herpes?
2) So If I get my own saliva or blood on myself it will not cause any sore, if it was herpes?
3) for the benefit of the doubt, just incase, if it was a Cold Sore, when is the area where the sore once was safe to touch and not accidentally spread/cause a sore somewhere else in the body?
Due to the type of work I do area around my face specially close to my lip tend to itch and sometimes i unconciously touch my eyes due to the wind, debris in the air cause itch specially under my nose which is very close to where the sore once was(Upper lip vermillion, left side)
I understand that it can spread to other parts now. And my lip where it was has completely healed. No wound. Just a slightly pinkish scar only visible when Upclose ot when i purse my lips together into a pucker.

1.Canker sores are most often associated with inside the mouth but lip sores can be something other than herpes..
2. If a person has herpes in one area, they can spread it to another.
3. Herpes  settles in the base of the spine or top of the spine and travels up a nerve to the skins surface. Its not in the blood or saliva.

Hi, Life360.
Can canker sore happen on the outside of the mouth? It was on my lip near the border of the upper lip?
Pretaining your answer no.2, Oral Herpes, Cold Sore, what do you mean by it does not spread? I've read that it can spread to other parts of the body if you touch it then touch another area.. Please clarify.
Also for no.3 Not in the saliva but saliva or blood. I'm confused now please clarify.

Thank you so much for you patience. This is the very first time I've ever experienced this.

HI, this does not appear as a herpes lip sore but as the docs suggested a canker sore which is not herpes.
1. you can have a blood test for herpes.
2. When a person has herpes oral, it doesnt matter touching it or not as you cant spread it to another area. Just dont kiss anyone till the sore has completely healed.
3. Herpes is not in the saliva but saliva or blood.

This is the very first time that I have had this "sore." Not even my parents nor other family know anyone in the family who has had it. They were the first one I asked since if I had contracted as such it might have been from them.
