Recently Diagnosed HSV2

Just got the test results back from my doctor, my blood work came back hsv1 positive, but i am currently experiencing my first hsv2 outbreak which means i recently contracted it from my girlfriend who had no symptoms, this sucks but its not too bad yet.  I am on the 2nd week of the outbreak have a relatively mild case no flu symptoms, slight leg pain, and of course the few sores.

Just looking for some advice on what remedies I can use, and what people have had results with.  My only concern right now is making them heal as fast as possible so I can get back to living a normal life until the next one.

thanks

it's easiest for us all if you just keep adding to your original post. we ask this in our read before posting post on this forum. thank you for your future cooperation with this.

did your lesion culture come back as hsv2+?   I know you still hadn't had those results from your last post. did your partner also get tested yet?

You could be experiencing an HSV1 genital outbreak. I agree with mistakeguy...did they swab the sores? If not, you need to see about getting that done asap. But it could possibily be too late.

As for medications there are a whole list of them out there. The common one being Acyclovir or Valtrex...among many others. You need to see a provider again, have proper testing done, and then they can give you a Rx of the medicine they feel you should take.

If your test came back with HSV-1 postive how do you know you have hsv-2?  Did your provider do a culture on your sores?
