Are you asking if this is an STD?

I mean, it could be. It could also be yeast or bacterial vaginosis. The only way to know is to see your doctor and get some testing done. There's no way anyone online can tell you what this is - the symptoms of all of them are very similar and the only way to know is to see a doctor. An urgent care, Planned Parenthood, STD clinic or any walk-in clinic or health department will be able to help with this.

I doubt its a std imin sexually active with my husband and that's it - I d have ghsv1 though I've had it for 10+ years and I've never had an identifiable outbreak if I've had one at all.I was at work when I created this post so sorry for not being thorough. My whole vagina was red , swollen and uncontrollably itchy - like I was itching myself all day every day. I would itch so much my whole vagina would then start burning from me scratching I assume .the worst part was the inside of my vagina hole bro g so itchy I just wanted to stick my finger up there and itch myself that show much I was itching .idont have health insurance because its so expensive. So i was just looking for some insight.it lasted 4 days.
Are you still having these symptoms?

A ghsv outbreak probably wouldn't cause these symptoms - you'd probably get a spot that's sore or tender, not your whole vaginal area. Call your local health department and ask what services they offer for people without insurance. Planned Parenthood also offers low cost care. Call them and ask how much it would be.

It could be yeast, bacterial vaginosis, an allergic reaction - the list is long and varied.
No its fine . it came last Tuesday by Sunday it was gone - & yea my whole vagina was red swollen .. and omg the itch was brutal - it wasn't one isolated area it was the whole vagina I wanted to die..I was taking azo- idk if it worked or what because it was gone 4 days later
I'm glad it's better. Maybe it was an allergic reaction to something. Which azo were you taking? They have products for UTIs, yeast, probiotics, etc.
So we can pretty much can rule out an outbreak since my whole vagina was red , itchy and inside of my vagina home was itchy as well? From what I googled it seems to point to yeast .Can I ask u something. Me and my husband have been using condoms for years . how much does a condom actually protect him from ghsv1? Do i have to use condoms the rest of my life.
I'd be really surprised if this was an hsv1 outbreak. It sounds a whole lot more like yeast than hsv1.

I'm surprised you're using condoms with your husband. You've had ghsv1 for more than 10 years. After 2 years, we know that you shed the virus about 4 days per year. The chances of you ever transmitting this are as close to zero as it gets.

And if you were to transmit it, so what? Then you both have it, and don't have to worry about it. It rarely recurs, and would be a minor annoyance for you both. I'm not at all suggesting that either of you intentionally decide to transmit it to him, but would it make a big difference if that happened?

If I had ghsv1, and that were my only reason for using condoms (no other STD concern, no pregnancy concern), I'd absolutely ditch the condoms like yesterday. In all my years of doing this, I've never heard of anyone transmitting ghsv1 to anyone. I'd avoid sex if you have an outbreak, but that's it.

Has he ever tested for hsv1? Do you know if he has it? If he has it already, he can't get it again. He can ask his doctor for a type specific IgG blood test.

Oh and if he doesn't have insurance either, and you're in the US, he can go to STDCheck and get it done for $65 (still expensive, I know) - https://www.stdcheck.com/herpes-1-test.php

The hsv1 IgG misses 30% of infections, so it's not totally accurate, but he can try it.
