If you're certain it was specifically for HSV2 (I'd call to confirm or request a copy), then you'd need a confirmatory test such as the Western Blot or Biokit. 2.27 is considered a low positive and so you can't be certain you have HSV2. Your doctor just isn't well informed about herpes in terms of her being adamant about you having it.
Thanks for your reply. I remember my doctor saying the test was a Herpeselect and the company was Labcorp. She said they don't test for hsv1 because most people have that.
Find out if you had a type specific blood test done. If so, there would be numeric values for both HSV1 and HSV2. If a combined test was done, it's pretty much worthless.
