false positive?

hh_
I was recently confirmed positive for Herpes 1 & 2 igg. I asked for the test for peace of mind because I just like to know I'm healthy. I've never had symptoms of any kind and I have been intimate with my partner. I have had unprotected sex and oral sex with and he recently got tested as well. He came out negative for both type 1 and 2 and I'm just confused about my results. He has never had symptoms either. I'm glad he's negative because it gives me a little hope but I'm just so anxious. I scheduled another test for the following week but I just don't want to get my hopes up about this being a false positive. Help!

What were your results? Do you have a number, like "HSV1 IgG 33.8 and HSV2 IgG 7.4"?

Does it say, "HSV1&2 IgG 26.9"?

If you can tell me exactly what your results say, I can help more. It's really important because there are a bunch of different tests, and knowing what yours says exactly can help me know if you were given the correct test (for example, if you have one value for both hsv1 and hsv2, it means you have hsv1, OR hsv2, OR both, and you don't know which of those it is yet).

Also, the values are important. On the hsv2 IgG, if it's below a 3.5, it needs to be confirmed because it could be a false positive.

So let us know and we can help. :)
