If it was 12 weeks at least then you are very probably negative for HSV2.
The math from May to July means that looks a skinny 12 weeks! You need to be very accurate here. Being HSV1 positive would mean a true 16 week result would give you most comfort.

I think you should obtain a IgG HSV2 test. Your body has had plenty long enough to generate antibodies.
The outcome should, particularly if negative, give you strong guidance on diagnosis and next steps. Seems to be speculating otherwise.
