Misdiagnosed hsv2?

About 2 months ago i went to a local doctors care because of i bump that was on my bag, i had recently shaved and went to the doctor for an annual check up where they checked for stds and infections. I shaved before the appointment and i did noticed a small bump there , I’m sure my gyno did too but she didn’t say anything. She swabbed my vag. She told me i had BV which is prob where the vag tingling was coming from then it went away after taking the meds. I believed the bump i had was an ingrown hair bump because i saw i hair in the middle but next to it it was another bump that looking like a open sore. Which hurt so i thought it was infected follicule. When i went to the doctors care i was told it looks like an ingrown hair but the swabbed it..my results came back and she said it was HSV2...i didn’t believe it because I’ve had no symptoms , and when i had got the results , the bump was gone in less then 7 days. With out meds. I also didn’t see any paper work or anything and it was a completely different doctor that swabbed me. Few weeks later i went to another doctor i got a blood test which as >.8.0. He told me that since I’m young the number young patients numbers are usually high & also i was sick with a cough I’ve had for weeks that didn’t go away so i was wondering if that could’ve been the reason for the positive outcome since my immune system was weak? He also told me after seeing the pics of the bumps that it doesn’t look like a Herpes outbreak but more of an infected follicule. Help what should i do? I have yet to have any symptoms besides constant tingling at the top of my vag.

A swab test can be taken as definitive. It’s the most sensitive test you can have, especially if it’s done and in active sore. Since you followed up with a blood test and your score was at 8, that is well above the positive threshold. I assume the test was an IgG but the blood test doesn’t matter much other than to confirm what the swab result already told you. Having a cold/flu has no bearing on your testing. Blood testing checks for hsv antibodies specifically. If they’re not there. The test wouldn’t pick them up.
Most people with HSV, whethers it HSV1 or HSV2, have no or very mild symptoms.

So there is a possibility that i am hsv2 positive? The last doctor i saw told me from the pics it looks like an infected follicule
Your positive swab and high positive blood test confirm that you do have HSV2.
I just wanted to add that I know this isn’t an easy diagnosis to accept. Nobody wants to be told they have the virus. Luckily, it doesn’t sound as if you have major symptoms. If you are sexually active, you can go on suppressive therapy to help reduce the chances of transmitting the virus to an uninfected partner and using condoms provides even more protection. Read up on the virus, learn all you can. You will be okay, it may take a bit of time but know that you will get through it.
