Test result question

Just got my test results back :
Hsv type1/2 AB IGG..........22.40
Hsv 2 IGG...................         .47

I think this means I had an exposure to hsv 1a long time ago due to the very high number of antibodies. Is this correct?

There are only 2 types of herpes simplex virus - hsv1 and hsv2.

The first test you had is a non-type specific test. All it says is that you have at least one type of herpes infection.  It is not type specific. You can not assume anything other than you have some type of herpes in your body from it.

the 2nd result is a hsv2 type specific result and it is negative.

I'm guessing you were tested thru labcorp - it's their default herpes test.

Hi. I have been struggling with this very topic. I tested positive 3 years ago. My partner is negative for HSV2 and positive for HSV1.  I have had 2 cold sores that I have had in my lifetime of recalling on my lip. I have stopped having sex for over a year. I have worked with my naturopath the whole time. I keep getting tested at Sonora quest and my labs have varied from 1.5 to 6.2(today ) for Hsv2.  Hsv1 has been reported at >8.
I have Been reading that my high HSV2 results are typically an indication of positive infection. I am understanding after spending so much time and money thatI should get the Western Blot!? My concern is that I have not seen anyone post labs as high as mine.
What is the easiest way to get the correct lab completed?
Thank you for your time. This has definitely been a struggle for me.
