I am a 22 yr old male and I have been seeing a woman who has tested positive for Hsv 2 but was negative for Hsv 1. Yesterday she gave me oral sex and she didn't have any cold sores or fever blisters and so I was wondering what my chances are of getting genital herpes since she was tested and got a negative result for Hsv 1? Is there any chance I could get infected?
So i had sex 3 days ago and the day after we had sex it hirt and burned to pee. yesterday the oitside of my vagina really hurted i thought it was just irritation from sex bit looked at it closely and saw there was bumps. i thought they were just pimples. but there was more than one and on both sides of my vaginal lips. When i pee it burns the outside...alot! This morning i woke up and there appeared to be more bumps...ive been trying to reshearch herpies, what it is, and the symptoms but i nothing could tell me how fast it shows up. ate these some of the symptoms and could someone tell me how fast the bumps apear after being infected?

Glad to hear it. Strep b can be hell.

Just an update. It turned out that I didn't have HSV but a Strep B infection. By that Sunday my sores were much better and by Monday they were almost gone. I found out my results on Wednesday a week after the culture and was obviously happy to find out that my test was negative. My doctor put my on amoxicillin and so far I haven't had any more problems. Thanks to everyone who gave me advice!
Thank you for the information. I have been trying to read online and it's really hard to know what to believe and what not to. I appreciate your help and I guess I will just have to wait to find out until Tuesday. I've never prayed so hard for a yeast infection! :)
Wish me luck!
Bleeding isn't typical of herpes, so I would say no, I don't think its herpes.
It is possible to have it for years and then get a noticable ob - happens quite a bit acutally.

I did have her do a culture while I was there. I found out that they will not have the results until Tuesday. I was tested in 2005 before I got married for what I thought was everything. I called that doctors office to see what I had been tested for because it seemed that Monday's incident was not the probable cause and it turns out I was not tested for HSV at that time.
My husband and I have been together for 4 1/2 years and Monday was the first time that I have ever been with someone other than him since we started dating. I have no plans of continuing the relationship with the other person from Monday and it was an isolated incident and I really regret it.
I supposed I could have had HSV from before I was together with my husband and it just didn't show up until now. Is that likely? And why would I be having an outbreak anywhere from 4 1/2 - 7 1/2 years after exposure? (I am counting the time I was sexually active before my husband from this date). I am not only worried about having contracted HSV but also if that is what I have how it will effect my marriage.
Do these symptoms sound like HSV now that it could have been from before? I am slowly finding out more information as I was sure I had been tested in 2005 and what positive I was clean before Monday. But now this could be a totally different thing.
Thank you so much for your help, I really appreciate you taking the time to help me through this.
Because I know what I'm talking about.
To get a herpes outbreak, there are several things that have to happen.
First, you get infected. Then the virus travels to the nerve group its going to infect, then it starts reproducing there.
Then it has to travel back down the nerve to the skin, where you will get symptoms.
This process doesn't take 12 hours - it is measured in days.
Why not just get it checked? A culture comes back in a few days to a couple of weeks, depending on the doc, the lab, and how the results get reported.
In the meantime, you should avoid sexual contact.

How sure are you that it is probably not herpes? I agree that it seems strange to have come on so quickly. However, later on last night I noticed another raw spot in a new location higher up than the original spots and this morning there was a spot the same size as the new spot on the other side. Almost like they were mirroring each other.
Would a yeast infection have these same symptoms? I've only had one and it wasn't anything like this. I am praying that it's only a yeast infection, but as time goes by I am starting to think that it really could be herpes. The sores are spreading and that doesn't seem like it could be a yeast infection.
Also, how long does a culture test result take?
Thank you so much!!
Nope - it would be 2 days at the soonest.

From what I know, a few days to a couple weeks after infection, you may have a prodrome, which may be an irritated sensation. Then a couple days after that a rash will appear and several blisters may form which are filled with water or a somewhat clear fluid. After these break, painful ulcerations (open sores) will form that eventually scab over and heal within 2 weeks. To have bleeding blisters so quickly doesn't make a lot of sense. Your cardio may have worsened the already abraded skin from your sexual experience.
I wish you the best, and use condoms in the future!
