Had my first OB of genital herpes two weeks ago - redness then blisters just below head of penis with a few more popping up elsewhere very soon after. I took acyclovir straight away and the blisters soon began to recede - the severe pain only lasted about 3 days, though since then it has still been a bit tender and some redness visible. Now I see some new blisters appearing on the penis head some way from the original ones. They're not really painful, just a little uncomfortable. I wonder whether I should seek to get hold of another course of acyclovir, in case they do get worse, or is it likely that they'll not turn as nasty as the first bunch and I should just ride it out?
The very latest point at which I could have contracted this is about two months ago so am I right in thinking (from what I've read) that this isn't a 'true' primary outbreak but a non-primary first outbreak? In which case it should be less prolonged than a primary would have been?
Thanks
