Uncertain of symptoms...

Hello,

Recently I've been getting redness, burning, itchiness, and soreness around my vaginal opening. I have no lesions, bumps, odor or discharge. This started at the end of January and went away after about a week so I was thinking it was a Yeast Infection....

Then I got it again at the beginning of March. I immediately freaked out and went to an STD clinic thinking it might be something more serious. She said I had some bacteria and that it might be bacterial vaginosis and prescribed me meds. I took the meds, but at that point it was about 7-8 days after the initial symptoms and it was better. The doc said I tested negative for Herpes.

AND NOW... I just recently got the itchiness, burning, and redness again at my vaginal opening. Same spot as always. I'm just worried that this might be something more than yeast/bacteria. I've heard that Herpes doesn't always involve open sores that people can see, and that it's hard to diagnose unless you have lesions.

I'm haven't been actively having sex, and the last time I did was on January 2nd, two and a half weeks later i got the damned symptoms that now repeat every month or so.

Please help me... could this be herpes? Or recurring yeast/bacterial vaginitis?

bv can be difficult to get rid of. at this point, go back and be seen again and get properly tested again for yeast and bacterial vaginal infections.  you can also repeat your herpes igg blood test too.

many other things that can be going on like this in us gals too so if your testing is all negative, it'll be time to pursue non-std related causes.
