Hello Doctors ! I'm a virgin, Over a year ago, I was dating a man with hpv2 positive. He was NOT taking any drugs and he told he got it 5-6 years ago. He is a health coach and fitness instructor, so his immune system is pretty strong. We dated on and off for almost a year, but we only did oral sex multiple times, and outersex (grinding, frottage) since I'm a Virgin: and wanted to keep it that way.
In the beginning of our relationship, I went to a doctor to see if I caught anything. He checked and saw nothing. I asked him about igg test, he said he didn't see any lesions and I'm not complaining, so no point.
It's been over a year and now I'm dating someone new. I haven't had any sexual contact since my ex.So, I wanted to take a IGG test to see if I'm clean or not, but my doctor says there might be a false positive result without a lesion, so not recommending for me to take it. So now, I'm scared to take it.. But the question "what if?" Is killing me.
1. Should I take the test? I don't live in the States anymore, so I cannot take western blot, only IGG ..
2. Do you think I caught anything from grinding? It wasn't once, it was multiple times, but we mostly did oral sex both ways.
3. Do you think i might have caught hsv2 on my mouth from oral sex? I did have a tiny small burning lesion on my upper lip couple months ago. But not sure if it is hsv1 or not. I never had a cold sore before.

I suggested it as your concerned and have a feeling that if a sore develops youll ask again about this.
Thank you for your reply. But doktors on this forum are against the testing. That is why I am so confused and helplesS . What if I get a positive result ? I cannot have western blot since I do not have it on my country .. I'm so lost :(

1. For your peace of mind you should take the test. Any igG type specific is ok.
2. Naked genital grinding is a method of contracting it but he risk would be quite low if there was no genital sores on him at the time.
3. Highly unlikely to contract oral hsv2 as prefers the genital area.
