Waiting on tests, but dr is sure it’s herpes. My throat is in excruciating pain..

due to a number of ulcers, and my face, specifically around the chin area, are covered in what I initially thought to be a hormonal acne breakout (something which I'd never experienced before), but have come to look more like sores.

Has anyone else experienced herpes in this way? I've applied raw shea butter to the areas on my face and am taking valacyclovir and tramadol as of today and am getting bloodwork back on Friday.

The tramadol isn't really helping, I'm unable to eat and am forcing myself to keep up fluids as swallowing is excruciatingly painful. In addition to the ulcers at the back of my throat, there is also inflammation and redness.
Does anyone have advice on how to cope with this? Suggestions for cream to apply to the skin? Idea on how to soothe the terrible throat situation? Right now I don't have anything on my genitals that I can tell, though as of today I started to experience discomfort/slight burning sensation when I pee.

I'm currently sexually active, though my partner assures me his last test (which was recent and he hasn't had sex since that time) was cleared of all STDs. I've had to get back in touch with the last person I slept with prior to him and ask the awkward question, but he said he hasn't been tested. He also said he hasn't experienced any symptoms, but I informed him that sometimes it works like that and you can have it without realising.

I also think perhaps I already had it (have experienced a handful of cold sores in my life) and for some reason side effects were only triggered now as I started experiencing cold-like symptoms two weeks ago and maybe my immune system was especially low.
Could I have given it to my current partner and then made it more severe for myself after performing oral sex/having unprotected sex with him?

Help.

Thanks for your response. My doctor is waiting on confirmation from the blood tests which may arrive tomorrow, or as late as Tuesday next week.

He checked it out and his opinion was that it was a viral infection, most likely herpes. I've been reading other peoples stories about dealing with herpes online and a few have had to do with initially being diagnosed with strep throat and then discovering it is herpes-induced.

My skin only became noticeably bad yesterday, so I've only been able to e-mail him photos and updates. He did ask me about the skin when I first when in to see him and at that point he said it was hard to say, but it was likely my skin reacting to being sick.

I thought it was just an acne outbreak when it started over a week ago, but now it no longer resembles pimples and is rather small red circles, some scabby. Just awful, I can't leave the house.

Hi, you must first confirm if you in fact have herpes. Typical oral herpes do not breakout all over your face and esp in the back of the throat is rare. You need to have doctor diagnose this. Needless suffering is not good.
