Wash cloth

I posted a question yesterday and I have a follow up but my discussion was closed. I have genital herpes. My mother who has really bad open eczema on her hand touched my washcloth after about 3-4 hrs of use. It was still very wet as it was mixed in with other towels. Is there any possibility that she will now have this on her hand? It was my wet washcloth not just the towel I dried off with. I just want to make sure I'm as specific as possible.

Your reading things out of context. There maybe a tiny bit of virus left weak and alive after said amount of time. That in no way poses a risk to your Mom. I don't care how bag her eczema is. The virus is absolutely not going to infect your lovely mother or your daughter other niece. You are reading things and peace meaning a scenario that will not happen. You need to let this go as you have surely built this up in your mind as something it can't be. I mean no disrespect at all for your concerns and I understand your need to protect those around you  I admire that. It's my job to stop you from going down the rabbit hole of what if scenarios that are not going to happen.
I hope this helps

I feel like what I've read it says once the wash cloth is cool and dry the virus is dead, but mine was still very wet. And that the virus can live for hours on towels. So neither of these are true? I wouldn't be so worried if my mom didn't have such bad eczema on her hands. She almost always has broken skin. It makes me so nervous because she changes my daughters diapers and bathes my nieces all the time and I would feel horrible if everyone in my family ended up with this because of me and that stupid wash cloth. I'm sorry I'm so paranoid.

Still zero risk. The virus can not live that long when exposed. In the absolute best environment the virus won't make it a half hour.
Just to make sure you understand, this is called a sexually transmitted infection for a reason. Your mom was at no time at risk. Even if she touched it just after you used it.
Please do not worry about this.
