What are the chances of getting HSV1 from receiving oral sex one time?

I'm a man who has no history of STIs and received oral sex from a woman who has HSV2. She has never had cold sores and does not believe she has oral HSV1. However, there has been some sensitivity/discomfort on the underside of the penis in one area for the three days since it happened. There have also been some weird body aches and occasional pain in the legs. Not sure if it's all in my head or not.

So it is possible to get genital hsv1 from someone performing oral sex on you, but I don't think that's what's happening here.

You said you've had symptoms " for the three days since it happened". Herpes symptoms don't appear for at least 2 days - the average is 4 days.

Her having ghsv2 means nothing in this situation. People with ghsv2 are only infectious from their genitals, not their mouths.

Do you know if you have oral hsv1? About half the adult population does, and about 90% of those will never get symptoms. If you have it already, you can't get it again genitally.

50% of all new ghsv infections are hsv1, so it's possible, but it's more likely to transmit if someone has a cold sore at the time.

I don't think you need to worry, and I'd tend to think your symptoms are anxiety since you know she has ghsv2. You are not at any risk of getting that from her.

Hi there are many reasons why you would not contract hsv1 genital from receiving oral sex. the number one would be that she did not have any lip sores at the time and also hsv1 prefers the oral area not genital and the list goes on. Your symptoms would appear an irriatation from the act itself as hsv does not show symptoms 3 days after exposure.

Thanks Dave. I shouldn't be worried in your opinion? I'm trying to keep a clear head.
I ment to say "may not contract" not you would not contract.
