Is this herpes?

A month ago I had a one night stand with a girl, we did not have sex but there was rubbing of the genitals involved. The next day I felt a tingling on the end of my penis which continued for about a week so I went to the local GUM clinic and got tested, all the results came back negative. A week later I noticed a single sore on my scrotum, I went back to the GUM and they said it did not look like herpes. I have had the sore for 2 weeks now and it has not changed in any way however this morning I developed a slight itchy rash on the tip of my penis. Does anyone have any ideas as to what this could be?

Thank you, this is a great relief! I plan on going to the GUM clinic tomorrow to get them to have a look at the rash and suggest possible treatment.

It's hard to say what it is online without seeing it but I totally agree with the GUM clinic as this does not suggest herpes at all. The time frame and presentation of the rash is not hsv. Hsv contraction on either the scrotum or penis head (tip) is unusual and outbreaks occur 3-10 days later and in very rare cases up to twenty days. Never a month. The sore not changing on the scrotum is a clear indicator that it is not hsv. I would see your gum clinic if the rash persists.  Again this is clearly not hsv.
Hope this helps
