Whithlow herpes and Hsv!

Whithlow herpes:
I went for a manicure for a special event. They cleaned the tools woth alcohol although not that great, and then the girl filed my nails and cut me a little. I then noticed it was an overused nail file that she didnt clean, I'm usually so precautious saddly not today. I went home, bathed my hands in alcohol then bleach (Im kind of a germaphobe, ad this is giving me anxiety and paranoia).  A also had dry cracked skin from had sanitizer. This was when the were almost closing.
1. What are the odds of me contractiong whithlow herpes?
2. how long must i wait to get tested?

Hsv1: This was my first scare before the the whithlow. A girl was sick and had a cold sore...of course i didnt notice it until after she touched my face (she coughed 5 min before). Unfortunately i had cracked skin also since i ran out of my special mousturizer and no ther ones were helping. She might have touched her cold sore when she coughed then touched my face right after, she got some lip too.  We were under hot lights, but i dont think it was a moist environment.  Did i catch it? how long would it survive on her hand? I wish she had the courtesy to keep her hands to herself. Please help! and im sure it was herpes. this was  6 days ago. Also i got sick that day then it went away. Could i have got it, does it even count as direct contact?

Everyone is saying im overreacting, but in a wold like his, am i really? i know 50-80% has it, but i cant have it its one of my biggest fears.

when can i get tested?
could i have cntracted either?

Hi grace. So i came into contact with something more serious and it has me in tears and my anxiety is worse. I was exposed to msra. I hadnt seen my friend in a while, and i dyed my hair blue. when she greeted me she touched it and my face. I have cracked skin still on my face. She then told me she had msra. would you know anything on my chances of having contracted it, or anyone on this site who can help me? I know its not an std, but you're very educated and i was hoping you yould help me.

saliva isn't an issue either from spit landing on your face.

Try coconut oil for the cracked hands :)

Thank you. I've read many articles and reports that it may transfer through saliva if a sore is present, why is it that a flying spit particle landing on an open cut on the lip make it not transferable? Is it the exposure to air, even if it was a split second?

By the way, remember I told you my doctor drew blood and tested it? It came out negative, so I don't have it from childhood I guess, I'm hoping to not aquire it through things as above and truly trust your knowledge. Its a simple virus, everyone has it, but my anxiety and ocd would get the best of me and wouldn't let me see past that. It really scared me though. Thank you so much for your help! I will be praying for a cure, it will happen :]

it doesn't matter at all if the water was chlorinated or not.

you were at no risk whatsoever. your anxiety about this is unfounded.

no, hair can't spread herpes and neither will saliva landing on you.

i realized the water that was splashed was not tap water, therefore did not contain chlorine. It was pure distilled water, can this still cause transmission? The water was cool too, almost room temp. I'm a nervous wreck, and knowing me I wont be at ease until three months go by so I can test and be sure. I don't know what to do. The water penetrated my cuts and its still bugging me, I'm terrified of whitlow and scared to spread it :c

Also, if a sore was present, but dry, and the person talked and spit flew o an open lip, could transmission happen?
Can hair spread it?

Grace, I'm sorry if I'm being a bother. I am just so concerned. I appreciate your help so much!

I'm a bit more at ease now but still paranoid when i let my mind wander. If anything ill keep you updated. even if i don't have a risk of having it right now, i truly hope they find a cure, nobody deserves this.
once more i greatly appreciate your help and feedback.

people with herpes aren't walking biohazards who are dripping herpes virus all over the place!!!

correct, you didn't get it from someone touching her face and then yours.  it won't travel through water to infect you either.

So just to put my mind at ease, I can not get HSV1 from the girl who touched/rubbed her sore then my face considering I had breaks on the skin? Her sore looked almost crusty. It was dry but warm in there.

And forsure herpes wont spread in pure water even if splashed/ poured on me?

My anxuety is now being treated. My OCD is stl kicking in saddly. Once more, thank you! Im sorry if im possibly being a bother.

your provider is wrong about the way that herpes is transmitted.

you don't need to see any other providers. you don't need any testing. you were never at risk for herpes!!

follow up on your anxiety - that's the real issue here. it's unfortunate that your provider gave you such awful information to add to your anxiety :(

Thanks. I went to my family doctor m y docnce my anxiety wa getting out of hand. I asked her if I could get sores from the gal touching her sore then my broken skin and she said yes. I woke up with a red spot that has a bit of white now. She said it could be herpes simplex and took some blood, then gave me herpes cream. I asked the nurse and he said there was a small chance of getting it this way. Could I have? Wouldnt the virus have died on her hand? The doctor also said herpes could spread through water. should I see another doctor, or is she right? Im taking all precautions to not spread it on the rest of myself or my family. I havent even been able to peck my mom on the cheek. I apparently also lost 8 pounds.i look depressed to. Keep in mind that she touched her sore and then my lip/face 2-5min after.

Grace, thank you so much for your help. Youre an angel.

this was not a risk for whitlow. you don't need any testing .

it was a potential risk for a skin infection if she cut you. should you develop any symptoms, see your doctor.
