Worried about HSV1

Hello, so on 9th March 2023, I had  a hookup, We were only kissing (french kiss), and she gave me a blowjob. I didnt give her oral sex, we also didn't have intercourse. Suddenly I'm just worried if I might get Oral Herpes from that encounter. What is the chance that I get Oral herpes from that encounter? It has been exactly 24 days since the encounter, I haven't had any symptoms of herpes outbreak until now (cold sores, fever, etc). Is there a possibility that I get an asymptomatic herpes? S

Do you know if you have hsv1 already? You might. 67% of people under 50 have it globally, and the vast majority never get symptoms.

If you have it already, you can't get it again.

If you don't have it, there is a chance you can get it orally or genitally. It's a good sign that you haven't had symptoms after 24 days.

We don't have transmission stats for hsv1, so I can't tell you how likely it is that you got it.

Receiving oral sex also puts you at risk for gonorrhea, chlamydia and syphilis, genitally. It's lower risk than vaginal or anal sex, but there is still a chance.

Hi, first of all thank you for your answer.

I’ve never checked std yet, but so far I have never had any cold sore thankfully. But does it could still mean that I might have it even if I never experience cold sores?

So are you saying that even an infected person sometimes doesn’t experience any initial outbreak?

Yes, the vast majority of people who have oral herpes type 1 never get symptoms - probably around 90% don't.

Not having symptoms doesn't mean you don't have it.
So do you think it’s neccessry to have medical check up for hsv1 and hsv2 based on my condition?
Not hsv2 - not at all. That's almost always only transmitted by genital to genital sexual activity.

You can get checked for hsv1 if you want. I certainly don't think it's urgent. Finding out is just so you know if you have it.

If you ever do decide to test, make sure it's a type specific IgG blood test.  I don't think you need to run out and get it done.
