Trusting an IGG HSV Test at 16 Weeks?

If you'll bear with me for a brief history of the situation: on Jan. 30 I had protected sex with someone who I later found out was HSV 2 positive. I also had unprotected oral sex with this same woman (who does have cold sores but not at the time) in mid February. I got tested at the 10 week mark and 7 week mark (these two marks are from the a) protected sex situation and the b) unprotected oral sex situation).

This most recent test would have been 16 weeks since Jan 30th and 12-13 weeks since the Feb. incidences. Can I trust this most recent test for my negative status? I talked to the doctor about these results and she said that it was most likely okay but that it could easily turn positive later. A lot of what I have read indicates that this is the timeframe but there do exist anomalies.

NOTE: As far as I can tell, I have had no symptoms short of two ingrown hairs in all of this time but I have read that most are asymptomatic.

Also, prior to either of us knowing her status, we engaged in fairly heavy dry humping but we were both clothed (I had pants and a shirt on, and she a pair of shorts and tank top). The only skin contact was mouth to breast and cuddling afterwards. Also, she did have a cold sore at this time but short of a brief kiss on my arm, there was no contact from her lips. From this description, do either of these activities put me at a risk for contraction of the virus?

Thank you for any help concerning these issues.

I also wanted to add because I somehow forgot to put in there that I tested negative for both HSV1 and HSV2 at all intervals.

There is no risk from the last acts you describe and hsv will not be transmitted through clothing of any kind.
Now, some people do take longer to test positive but it's rare. Most folks will test pos by 7-8 weeks. That being said your exposures were an incredibly low risk. Protected intercourse is so low that it wouldn't concern me a bit. Same goes for your oral sex exposure. If you add it all up (extremely low risk, no real hsv symptoms and all those negative tests) the sum of all that surely means you were not infected. My advice is to move on and don't look back.

Thank you very much for your comments. My obsessive mind will always dwell on the negatives so I am attempting to focus on the evidence and not the small possibilities of infection. Again thank you.
