cold sores possible transmission of hvs1

About 9years ago I had my first outbreak of cold sore orally and I haven't had one since then. On the 2nd I performed unrst outbreak of cold sore orally and I haven't had one since then. On the 2nd I performed unprotected oral sex on my partner who I've been dating for 3months, during that time I had no symptom n no active cold sores,  n he's never had in cold sore. On this Thursday he haprotected oral sex on my partner who I've been dating for 3months, during that time I had no symptom n no active cold sores,  n he's never had in cold sore. On this Thursday he had a server headache n burning sensation all over but no gentile symptoms. N he haven't had a headache or burning sensation since then, but I am terrified that he is having signs n symptom of gentile hvs1. It's been 14 days since exposure if so.

How long should it actually take for initial outbreak?
Is it possible that he has been exposed to the virus?
When is ok to play it safe. Please help. After reading alot of information on here n on the Internet I never know that someone could transmitted the to someone with no visible sores.

Yes last year I had a blood test done for HIV, Syphilis, Hvs1,  n Hvs2. Everything came back negative accept for Hvs1. I was clear that it was oral because in 2006 I had a server outbreak of cold sore around my mouth n I haven't had one since then. Thanks you for the information.. but my main concern is that could the headache n fevers be a sign of hvs1 gentile after 11 days of receiving unprotected oral sex from someone who has hvs1 orally but no visible sores. It's day 15 n he still hasn't had outbreak just a fever very scared

Hi, first u need to confirm if you have herpes to end any future concerns. If you do have oral hsv the risk of passing it with no sores at the time would be close to zero as shedding does not occur a large percent of the time. First time outbreaks occur 3  to 5 days on average and hsv1 does prefer the oral area as well. If this were not true many more people would have genital hsv1 and they do not.
Your patner should test as well as upward of 65% of the adult population would test positive for oral hsv1 and if he does have it he would be basicly immune to getting it genital as well.
