I am a 25 yr old male.
2 weeks ago I slept with a female my age.
I used a trojan extended condom that a friend had given me to try (which is lined with a numbing agent called benzocaine). Because I had been drinking prior to the encounter, the numbing agent made my penis totally flaccid.
I took the condom off and she persuaded me to continue unprotected.
3 days after the encounter I started to have some burning in my urethra. It didn't sting when I urinated, but more so just burned for a few minutes after urination. I was nervous so I went to see a urologist. The doctor took a sample of my urine and looked at it under a microscope. He told me there was no discharge and that I shouldn't worry about it.
He gave me a pill called cystex, that he said would soothe the pain.
A week later I still felt some discomfort in my urethra as well as some itching in my genitals. I also felt some cramps in my pelvic area above my genitals. Also I started having a lot of gas with the cramps.
I went to my usual doctor (different than the urologist) to see if he had a different diagnosis. He said that the gas was unrelated and that the urethra discomfort could be many different things. I told him that I was freaking out because I thought I might have genital herpes.
He said that it might just be a reaction from the numbing agent inside of the condom.
He prescribed me a weeks worth of antibiotic (doxycycline) and told me that I should come back in 4 weeks.
It is now 1 week after my last doctor visit (2 weeks and 1 day after the encounter)
I am still feeling the discomfort (burning) in my urethra and have still had extreme gas and occasional cramping.
I find myself constantly itching around my penis, testicals, and anus.
I have yet to have fever, discharge, or genital lesions.
Would a reaction to benzocaine last this long?
Or do I have an STD that is still remaining dormant?
PLEASE HELP! Thanks
I cannot tell if I am being paranoid, or if there is a chance that I have genital herpes.
