herpes results

hello,

Just yesterday I received my blood test results and have a 0.95, which is called equivocal, meaning neither negative or positive.  I had my last sexual encounter 7 weeks ago, which is why I believe it may only be equivocal and not positive.  I am waiting to meet with a dermatologist, but I am pretty sure I do in fact have herpes.  I developed a lesion on my penis 3 days after this sexual encounter, and it has still not completely faded.

With this being said, I am starting to accept this fate.  I would really appreciate any advice people could give to me on what this will mean with my life/relationships going forward.  I am really having a tough time and could truly use a bit of advice.

You need a igG for sure but i will say that having a negative igm is of some value. Having a igM positive would be the issue as igm has many false positives.

I am just realizing that this was an Img test.  What would this mean?

Since testing at 8 weeks post exposure is good indicator, having a .95 at 7 would surly mean you dont have herpes.

Thank you for your response and time. I am having trouble understanding how if I don't have herpes the test would come up so high however. These results, plus my confusing symptoms are really bothering me. Is it common for people that don't have herpes to have equivocal results?
